How to tame your frizzy hair (tips&products)

If fall is known as the sweater weather with its pumpkin spice latte and cozy blanket night, it’s also known for most of us as frizzy, flyaway, and dry season hair! But why your hair is frizz anyway? Frizz is mostly caused by a lack of moisture in your hair or humidity and excess moisture in the air. Another common cause of frizz is dry hair or damage. So to prevent your hair from going wild this fall, here are our solutions and favorites products that will assure you smooth, frizz-free, and silky hair during those rainy gloomy days.

• Wash gently & hydrate with a mask

Because frizz occurs when your strands are in search of moisture, you want to give them the hydration they need while in the shower. Use sulfate-free and glycerin shampoos that will maintain the hair’s natural oil levels. And use a nourishing mask made with natural moisturizers like coconut oil, organ oil, shea butter every time.

• Dry with a microfiber towel

Your hair is at its more vulnerable state when it’s wet. Using cotton towels create friction with your hair, leading to frizz and breakage. So switch for a microfiber towel that will absorb the water from your hair much faster without causing friction.

• Protect your hair

When it comes to styling your hair, they are few products that you can use to protect and prevent your locks from frizz, especially if you’re using hot styling tools. Serum, spray, or oil, you can use prior to styling your hair when it is wet, and of course after to coat it with moisture. The texture of these products is very fine to not weigh down your hair but still let them be silky and frizz-free.

• Slip in silk!

Did you know that we spend a third of our lives in bed! Ordinary pillowcases can cause hair to pull and tangle throughout the night, leading to a bed head in the morning and potentially damaging frizzy hair. Silk fibers are significantly less absorbent than many other fibers, so they won’t take away your hair’s moisture.
