How to get longer lashes (serum, lash extension, lash lift…)

The very first compliment that I get is usually about my almond eyes. This always surprises me since I don’t have ocean blue eyes or gemstone green eyes. But having beautiful is not a matter of iris color. Look at Monica Bellucci and her fiery eyes for example! So put all the chances to your side and give your eyes an extra hump by magnifying your lashes. From organic tips to lash extensions, falsies, and eyelash lift, I’m telling you everything you need to know to your eyes stand out even more.

Oil&Serum

I’ve tried two natural ways to make my eyelashes grow longer and one has worked quicker than the other. The first one is to apply castor oil on your lashlines (bottom and upper) every night before going to bed. I don’t advise you to do it in the morning since castor oil is very thick and sticky and would ruin your makeup. You have to wait a few weeks to be able to see a result. The second thing that I’ve tried is the Revitalash serum. It’s like a liquid eyeliner that you apply morning and night on your lashlines as a cure. After only two weeks I start seeing the results as my lashes became so long!

Pro: organic (for castor oil) and easy to apply

cons: you need to be very regular on the application

Lashlift

The other way to have long lashes is to go for a lash lift. It’s the same idea that when you get a perm for your hair. While you lay down,  eyes closed, the practician applies a perm solution on your lashes to hold and fix the curl. It’s absolutely pain-free and the result is immediate and will last up to 2 or 4 weeks. I’ve already done it gives you the same effect as using an eyelash curler before applying your mascara. I advise it for girls that already have quite a lot of lashes for a nice result.

pro: it will discipline your lashes and give them a beautiful curl

cons: won’t last long and won’t give you that wawavoom effect

Lash extension

I’ve already done it a couple of times,  and my favorite place is by far L’Ateleir du regard in Paris with the one and only Sarah. She’s the best! So how does it work? Like the lashlift, you lay down on a bed and close your eyes. The practician will clean your eyelashes to remove any makeup of greasy residue and will start to fill your lashes one by one by gluing it next to your own lash. The work done needs to be very precise and clean to have a beautiful and natural look. This is why it’s important to go to the right place. As for the result, it depends on what you want as the practician works on your eye shape and how long, curl and full you want your lashes to look. I can’t wait to go back and try the “Kim K” lash extensions, I will definitely let you know once done!

pro: stunning look, personalizable, last up for 3/4 weeks

cons: it will damage your own lashes on the run

At home lash extensions

We are not talking about false lashes that you glue on top of your natural lashes. God knows how difficult and noticeable they are… I’m talking next-level lash extension at home with Lashify. I discovered the brand on Instagram and ordered a kit to see what the hype was about and let me tell you that I love them! How does it work? On clean lashes, you first apply a bond to the underside of your upper lashes. With the wand, you take a piece of lash and place it on the underside of your top lashes. Then you fuse the lash to your natural one with the same wand. And voilà! You can customize the length, curl, and how full you want the result to look, just like in the salon.

pro: cheaper than doing lash extensions at the salon, beautiful adjustable result.

cons: not for people with two left hands, and on me, the lashes didn’t stay more than two days. Plus the refill to buy (gossamers) is pricy.
